A summer retreat with history.

At the meeting point of seven valleys, just 30 km south of Karlsruhe, lies the town of Bad Herrenalb with its districts of Bernbach, Neusatz and Rotensol, home to over 7,000 residents. Herrenalb grew from a Cistercian monastery founded in 1149 and remained a monastic village until the 18th century. Then, the first day-trippers from the growing towns of the surrounding region began to visit. Herrenalb has been a summer retreat for the people of Karlsruhe and a popular destination for visitors for decades. In 1971, drilling at a depth of 600 metres revealed mineral springs, upon which Herrenalb was granted the prefix "Bad" and officially became Bad Herrenalb.

Stillness in the winter months.

When the Northern Black Forest settles under a blanket of snow in the colder months, Bad Herrenalb reveals its quietest side. The wooded heights surrounding the town invite winter walks, and when snowfall is sufficient, prepared cross-country ski trails are available in the region. The spa park and the promenade along the Alb river remain a place for peaceful strolls even in winter. On clear days, the elevated terrain offers sweeping views across the snow-covered valleys. The seclusion that this season brings makes the town a sheltered retreat.

Easily accessible — by rail and car.

For over 100 years, the town has been connected to the nearby city of Ettlingen and the Baden capital Karlsruhe via the Albtalbahn (S-Bahn suburban rail). The approximately 20-minute journey gives Herrenalb access to city life and provides Karlsruhe residents with a swift connection to the nature of the Black Forest. Bus services connect Bad Herrenalb with other Black Forest towns and with Baden-Baden, 20 km away.

From Bad Herrenalb station (S1 from Karlsruhe Hauptbahnhof) it is approximately 8 minutes on foot to the clinic.
