How the Admission Process Works.
We ask that contact be made with us prior to any inpatient admission in all cases, in order to assess the indication for psychiatric-psychotherapeutic treatment, clarify insurance status, discuss any remaining questions or patient concerns, and — depending on available treatment places — confirm an admission date.
In acute cases, following prior consultation with us, only an emergency referral is required, issued by a licensed medical or psychological colleague, and containing the diagnosis that justifies the acute admission.
For a more medium-term planned inpatient or day-clinic stay at our clinic, a written cost approval from the relevant health insurance provider is required. This should be applied for in the outpatient setting in advance.
Admission of patients with statutory health insurance via Techniker Krankenkasse or DAK is also possible under certain conditions. On request, we are happy to send the “Information for Statutory Health Insurance Patients”, which explains the process for applying for cost coverage from the health insurer. In this case as well, we ask for prior consultation to assess the psychosomatic indication for treatment at our clinic and to provide a corresponding cost estimate for the anticipated duration of treatment.
